02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Borders Group of RDA is set up to provide disabled people in the Scottish Borders area with the opportunity to ride to the benefit of their health and well-being. This is achieved through the use of qualified coaches, along with volunteers who accompany disabled children and adults on regular organised riding experiences.

  • the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended
  • the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage

The organisation's purpose is to promote the objects of the Riding for the Disabled Association incorporating Carriage Driving (Company No 5010395) a charity registered under Charity Number SC039473 (lithe Company') by providing disabled people with the opportunity to ride and/or to carriage drive to benefit their health and wellbeing in the Edinburgh & Borders area
