02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
As part of the national Church of Scotland, our Christian mission is to: Proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom of God. teach, baptise and nurture new believers, respond to human need by loving service. seek to transform unjust societal structures, challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation. strive to safeguard creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth. We do this through Sunday worship and the Bible teaching that this brings, together with a series of regular meetings, activities and pastoral support that caters for all ages in our community. To illustrate with examples, our soup and sing lunch helps look after those with dementia and their carers. our Burnside garden is created and looked after by our Young Church.
