02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The main activity of the Trust is the disbursement of the free annual income of the Trust or such part thereof as shall be decided by the Management Committee in providing financial assistance and support to 1. The Committee of Veterinary Students of the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College. 2. The Royal (Dick) Veterinary College Athletic Club and the affiliated sections thereof. 3. Any properly constituted (as to which the Management Committee shall be the sole judges) Students Clubs, Associations or Sections within the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College in each case to enable them to provide study, research, leisure or sporting facilities or equipment., and Any other deserving cause within the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College deemed by the Management Committee to be for the welfare or benefit of any student or students of the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College all as may be directed by a Disbursement Committee.

Constitutional objectives

The Trustees shall hold the Trust Funds under their control for the benefit of the students of the said Royal (Dick) Veterinary College but neither the capital nor the income of the Trust shall form any part of the general funds of the University of Edinburgh or of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine or the Edinburgh University Students Association.
