02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We are the local face of the national Church of Scotland,, so like other churches we marry presenting the Reformed Christian theology of the Church with the accessibility of a neighbourhood church that is available to all in the community. Which means we do-literally marry people! We also bless and baptise their children, and preside over the burial of their loved ones. We seek to help the local school raise our children with an understanding of their God-given worth and their place of both blessing and responsibility within a God-given world. As we speak the gospel publicly we also seek to live it out, providing spaces and gatherings for those in need, from Warm Spaces to simple hall spaces for other groups to use at minimal cost. And because we are a Christian church we take every opportunity to worship God-formally or informally- in a way that is open to anyone.
