Constitutional objectives

To promote within the City of Edinburgh and elsewhere all or any activities for the benefit of the community which now or hereafter mayor be deemed by law to be charitable and in particular (but without prejudice to the foregoing generality) to promote, further encourage and assist the work of Third Sector organisations and statutory authorities engaged in the advancement of education, the furtherance and protection of health, the relief of poverty, distress or sickness or other charitable purposes, and to promote and organise co-operation in the achievement of the above objects or any of them and for that purpose to bring together representatives of such Third Sector organisations and statutory authorities and specifically: 5.1 the advancement of education. 5.2 the advancement of health. 5.3 the prevention or relief of poverty. 5.4 the advancement of citizenship, and community development. 5.5 “Any other charitable purpose that may be regarded as similar to any of the preceding purposes”
