02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Cornerstone Church's mandate is to advance the Christian faith by holding meetings in the form of services, conferences, bible studies, prayer meetings, evangelistic meetings, outreaches, monthly breakfasts and meals, craft groups. We collaborate from time to time with other Christian organisations, such as the BGEA evangelistic outreach, Samaritan's Purse, the Try Praying and Alpha Groups. Through working working with these organisations, we aim to reach the lonely and the needy people. The object of this is to promote the love of the Lord to all people at home and abroad.

Constitutional objectives

The aims of the Church are: To advance the Christian religion and in furtherance thereof: (a) To hold regular and occasional meetings for the ministry of the word of God, fellowship, worship, breaking of bread and prayers for the up building God’s people in faith, spiritual strength and good works. To be made ready for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. (b) To propagate the full gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ at home and abroad by means of the spoken work, music, literature, films, recordings and other avenues as they present themselves. (c) To give teaching and preparation for spiritual ministry to achieve the aims as in b. above (d) Through faithful ministry of the word of God and counsel in line with its principles, promote unity and love amongst all true believers in the spirit of Christ, (e) That the Statement of Faith as published separately and adopted by a business meeting of members in May 1983 and amended in July 1993 be adopted into this Constitution as a basis of membership and belief. (f) To seek to bring honour, glory, praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father Who has brought us into an everlasting covenant relationship with himself through his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit. (g) To relieve the needs of persons in necessitous circumstances and to relieve poverty at home and abroad. (h) To advance the aims and objects of any organisation having charitable or similar status at home or abroad.
