Constitutional objectives

4.1 To provide education for the public generally and farmers in particular about the Charolais Breed of cattle in particular with regard to breeding, feeding, welfare, quality and purity within the whole of Scotland, including the Orkney and Shetland Islands, and the Northern English counties of Northumberland and Cumberland, (hereinafter referred to as 'the area')and elsewhere and to co-operate with others, and in particular with the British Charolais Cattle Society Limited (hereinafter referred to as the 'B.C.C.S.') to this end. 4.2 To encourage, promote, improve and facilitate the unique advantages of the Breeding of Charolais Cattle to encourage environmental improvement and improve welfare within the area and elsewhere, to encourage and promote the use of Pedigree Charolais bulls as crossing sires for commercial beef production and, with a view to attaining these ends if and so far as may be thought desirable, to purchase, import, breed, hire or otherwise acquire and hold, resell, let out on hire or otherwise deal in Charolais cattle whether of British or foreign origin. 4.3 To promote excellence in Charolais Cattle and to make the merits of Charolais Cattle and the best mechanics for preserving their welfare and protecting their environment more widely known whether by the promotion, organisation and management of shows and auctions and other sales of pedigree Charolais cattle and other cattle, the publication of any journal, newspaper or other periodical or of any article relating to cattle breeding, the promotion of conferences, courses, demonstrations and other such events or by any other means whatsoever. 4.4 To promote scientific, empirical and practical measures into the breeding, feeding and welfare of Charolais Cattle and any such measures as may be deemed necessary to preserve and safeguard the high quality of the Charolais breed within the area and to safeguard and ensure its sustainability and ensure that only cattle of high quality be presented at the charities principal annual sale. 4.5 To foster and develop the sense of community, social and economic adhesion of all those involved in Charolais Cattle in the Area of Benefit.
