02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Church of Scotland exists to glorify God and to work for the advancement of Christ's Kingdom thrughout the world. Morning worship is conducted in Dumfries Northwest church every Sunday. Communion services take place in every major season of the Christian year. Funeral and wedding services are available for members of the congregation and for residents within the parish and community. A wide range of social and fund-raising activities involving a broad spectrum of the church and community take place in the church building, including coffee mornings, spring fayre, car boot sale, and regular monthly film nights.
