To divide the capital of the residue of his means and estate into two equal parts or shares and to convey one of said parts or shares among such Scottish and Glasgow Charitable Bodies and Institutions as the said Trustees might select AND WHEREAS it was represented to the said Trustees that there existed a need for the establishment of a Charitable Body or Institution in the said Parish of Kirkoswald for the purpose of providing relief to persons in poor or straitened circumstances resident in the said Parish as the said need therefor may from time to time arise.
