Constitutional objectives
For the application of the annual income of the Trust in special donations, regular subscriptions or otherwise to any of the following purposes within the United Kingdom as the Trustees in their sole discretion shall from time to time consider to be most useful, with power to the Trustees to defer the distribution of part of the income in any year until a future year, viz.- (1) For Infirmaries, Hospitals, Convalescent Homes, Institutions and Societies for Blind, Deaf and Dumb or other necessitous classes, and any other Institutions, Trusts, or Associations for the relief of poverty or disease, or for the betterment of the people or of any special class. (2) For special expeidture for the benefit of Universities, Technical, Commercial and Agricultural and similar Schools and Colleges and their students, provided always that the money so paid from the Trust Estate shall not be for or in relief of expenditure which otherwise would be borne out of the public rates or taxes. (3) For Charitable, benevolent and ameliorative purposes of every kind, including Orphanages, Homes for the Aged and Infirm, Red Cross Work, Disabled Soldiers and Sailors, Dependants of Soldiers and Sailors, Prisoners of War, Foreign Refugees, Homes, Canteens, Halls and other schemes for the comfort or amusement of Soldiers and Sailors, workers and others and Institutions and Schemes for helping any needful class.
