02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Whitchester is an ecumenical Christian Retreat Centre with a ministry of welcome and hospitality, providing opportunities and space to rest and encounter God. The Retreat Wardens are both trained in Listening Skills and Prayer Ministry, and one is also trained in Spiritual Accompaniment. In addition to booking individually for retreat time, Whitchester also holds Quiet Days and Retreats, and hosts Church groups. The objects of the Charity include providing rest, refreshment and healing for those in Christian ministry suffering from stress due to burnout, bereavement, overwork marital breakdown or any other reason.
