02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
1. Services of worship in English and Gaelic were held every Sunday and prayer meetings weekly 2. Spiritual and social support was provided to the elderly, the sick and those disadvantaged in their own homes. 3. The Sunday School met weekly using age-appropriate versions of the Go Teach materials. 4. The monthly 55+ Fellowship continued meeting in the year. 5. The congregation’s Explorer groups continued to meet weekly during term time. 6. An outreach named ‘Fridays at the Free’ created to address the problem of loneliness and the cost of living challenges, met regularly. 7. The MA Hall is the venue from which Dove’s Corner Baby Bank distributes nappies, items of clothing and baby formula milk free of charge to parents who are struggling to meet the costs of purchasing such items. 8. The congregation supports Road to Recovery, an alcohol and addiction rehabilitation programme. 9. The MA Hall continues to be a popular fund-raising venue for humanitarian & medical charities.
