02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Provides award and financial assistance to Clubs, Districts, Associations and members of the SAYFC West Region to recognise and encourage activities which meet the aims and objectives of SAYFC.

Constitutional objectives

The objects of the Scheme shall be: - (a) to advance the education and training of young adults at large in the West of Scotland in agricultural, country life, home craft and citizenship skills and related subject. and (b) in the interests of the social welfare of these young adults, to provide and promote the provision of facilities and activities for recreation and other leisure time occupations, being facilities and activities which will improve their conditions of life and which will assist in the development of their spiritual and mental capacities, self-reliance and individual responsibility so that they may grow to full maturity as responsible individuals and members of the community. These objects shall be achieved by the making of Awards which will assist such young adults, their Clubs, their District Associations and the Association in the West of Scotland to achieve these objects.
