Constitutional objectives
I direct the Fletcher Bequest Trustees to hold the whole Residue and remainder of my said means and estate in perpetuity and to apply the free annual Income derived therefrom as follows:- (1) To distribute one-fourth thereof in such manner and proportions as the Fletcher Bequest Trustees in their sole discretion shall deem expedient at Christmas yearly or at such other time or times as they shall think fit among or for behoof of poor, aged, infirm or distressed persons residing in the Parishes of St. Andrews and St. Leonards. (2) To pay one-fourth thereof to the Royal Edinburgh Hospital for Incurables. (3) To pay one-fourth thereof to the Orphan Homes, Bridge of Weir. and (4) To pay the remaining one-fourth thereof to the Scottish Branch of the Officers’ association incorporated by Royal Charter (popularly known in Scotland as The Earl Haig Fund) and whose Office is at Seven Drummond Place, Edinburgh to be applied by the said Scottish Branch of the Officers’ Association for the benefit of ex-service men who have served in War or their dependents.
