The Trust makes donations to small causes rather than donations to nationwide appeals to a variety of causes.

Constitutional objectives

The Trustees shall pay and apply the free annual income of the Trust Funds each year as the Trustees in their sole discretion think fit, to and among the following beneficiaries, namely:- (1) Such Charitable Institutions, Societies or bodies as the Trustees may select, including (without prejudice to the foregoing generality) any one or more of those named in Second Schedule of the Deed annexed and signed as relative hereto. namely, The National Trust for Scotland and The Charities Aid Fund of the National Council of Social Services (all of which Charitable Institutions, Societies or bodies are, together with the Educational Institutions, Societies or bodies and the Christian Institutions, Societies or bodies referred to in the next immediately succeeding paragraphs, being paragraphs two and three hereof, collectively referred to as 'the Charitable bodies'). (2) Such Educational Institutions, Societies or bodies as the Trustees may select, including (without prejudice to the foregoing generality) any one or more of those named in the Third Schedule of the Deed annexed and signed as relative hereto. namely, Eton College, Bedales School, Ardvreck School and Pembroke College, Cambridge. and (3) Such Christian Institutions, Societies or bodies as the Trustees may select, including (without prejudice to the foregoing generality ) any one or more of those named in the Fourth Schedule of the Deed annexed and signed as relative hereto. namely, The Church of Scotland.
