02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We support vulnerable children and young people aged 5 and over. We aim to help them build confidence, resilience and self-esteem, develop positive relationships and life skills, and make positive choices for their future. We provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where young people can learn, grow and thrive through Equine Facilitated Wellness (EFW). Working alongside horses, our young people take part in activities such as grooming, horse care, groundwork and, where appropriate, riding. These activities help them develop emotional awareness, communication, trust, responsibility and coping skills. We work with young people individually and in small groups, responding to their individual needs. Referrals come from schools, health and social care professionals, families and other organisations. Our aim is to improve young people's wellbeing, help them overcome barriers and enable them to reach their potential.

Constitutional objectives
The company's objects are: i. To establish , maintain and manage a service for young people throughout the Scottish Borders who , because of the difficulties they are experiencing, could benefit from such a service. ii. To meet the needs of these young people through a flexible range of responses, including but not limited to, group activities, befriending and mentoring, to encourage them away from negative behaviour.
