What the charity exists to do
The Friends support and promote the development of the University of Dundee Botanic Garden as a public facility, as a source of scientific information, through informed public discussion and through assisting financially projects that cannot be funded by the University

Constitutional objectives
3 The association's purposes are to: (a) support and promote the development of the University of Dundee Botanic Garden (“the Garden”) as a public facility, in cooperation with the Botanic Garden Core Team. (b) support, financially or in other ways, individual projects proposed by the Botanic Garden Core Team and its successors, members of the Friends, or other organisations, that directly or indirectly support, promote or preserve the public use of the Garden. (c) aid the Garden in its role as a source of scientific information for the public by providing a focus for informed public discussion on matters of botanical interest. AND THEREBY TO (i) advance education. (ii) provide recreational facilities, or organise recreational activities. (iii) advance environmental protection or improvement. (iv) advance science and the arts.
