What the charity exists to do

The Scottish Society for Crop Research functions through its crop sub-committees for combinable and energy crops, potatoes and soft fruit organising indoor and outdoor events to disseminate research findings and other information of relevance to their respective industries.

Constitutional objectives

The objects of the Society shall be to promote agriculture, arboriculture, or horticulture, pursuant to the Friendly Societies Act, 1974, and the Special Authority of 10th June 1976. The operations of the Society in carrying out these objects shall be exclusively scientific, and shall be limited to experimental and other research for the improvement of plants and crops in Scotland, and investigating conditions affecting their production and by maintaining an association with the Scottish Crop Research Institute. The Society may do or co-operate in doing all such things as may be considered necessary or expedient for carrying out the foregoing objects within the limit above laid down.
