Constitutional objectives

The Trustees, in connection with, and as an Agency of the United Free Church of Scotland, or any other Church with which the said United Free Church acting by the majority of its General Assembly may amalgamate or be associated and conserving the spirit and methods, as far as practicable and desirable of the work hitherto carried on by the donors, shall carry on, encourage and assist Evangelistic and other Christian work directed for the spiritual and social benefit chiefly of the working and non- churchgoing people in the Parishes of Dreghorn and Irvine and adjoining districts of Ayrshire, and may undertake such benevolent work in connection therewith as may be found to be desirable. The Trustees shall in particular, but without prejudice to the generality, devote their special attention to the Evangelistic, Missionary and other Social Work which has hitherto been carried on in connection with the special buildings forming part of the Trust Estate, and the Trustees shall so far as possible, make each building a centre for the propagation of Christian influence and for social and charitable work in the neighbourhood.
