02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The facility as a whole continues to remain an open marina for the benefit of the local and surrounding community and improvements continue to be made to provide access for disabled and impaired patrons. Income is generated through the hiring of berths and sheds. Volunteers assist with the running of the marina and the hiring out of the berths and sheds.

Constitutional objectives

Its objects are: (a) To preserve, develop and maintain for the public benefit a boat haven at Westhaven, Cairnbulg, in the Parish of Rathen and County of Aberdeen. and (b) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Cairnbulg and Inverallochy and their environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating with the local statutory authorities, voluntary organizations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, or to assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved.
