02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Community Playgroups provides early years childcare to children age 2-5 years in West Lothian. At the end of financial year 2024/2025 we run our services from 5 locations. Our aim is to provide quality early years education, by providing an environment which is a home from home, loving and nurturing. All staff are fully educated early years practitioners with many years of experience. We are fully registered with the care commission and follow all up to date guidance, legislation and best practice to ensure the highest levels throughout our service.

Constitutional objectives

to advance the education and social development of pre-school children with the emphasis on the play experience, so that they may become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors, and take a constructive place in the community and also to develop and enhance the education of their parents, carers and other appropriate persons . In furtherance of these aims the organisation shall seek to: (a) To provide safe and satisfying group play and learning opportunities. (b) To encourage other charitable activities through which parents may support the development of children.
