02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To combat loneliness. We do this by holding weekly meetings from September to May each year. We have entertainers games afternoons and talks. we also hold a yearly dinner have Burns supper and a Christmas party. We have two day trips each year with afternoon tea or high tea.

Constitutional objectives
1) POLMONT AGE CONCERN shall pursue issues and equal opportunities ofthe overall well being ofthose members ofthe community who may be regarded as having reached the age of 'seniority' by virtue of being 60 years of age and beyond. 2) POLMONT AGE CONCERN will adopt, at all times, a non racist, a non political and non sectarian approach to any of its activities directed towards furthering the aims ofthe age group for which it had been constituted. 3) POLMONT AGE CONCERN will not be deterred from making representation or pressurising elected or legislative body, irrespective of political or religious orientation in pursuit of its aim at the time. 4) POLMONT AGE CONCERN will provide a practical focus for issues and ideas concerning the present and future well-being ofthose it represents. Such a focus will be provided in the form ofregular meetings of Committee Members with available contact provided by Office Bel.lrers. 5) POLMONT AGE CONCERN will unite the views of older people who would find themselves socially and economically isolated.
