02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Muirfield Playgroup was set up to provide education and care to children aged 2-5 in the Arbroath and surrounding area. We are situated within Muirfield Primary School and have a modern, purpose built room and private outdoor garden area. We work in partnership with Angus Council to offer both funded and unfunded spaces for children in the local area. We work with outside agencies including speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and social work. We work hard to provide a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Constitutional objectives
The aim of the playgroup is to promote the aim of the Scottish Pre-School Playgroups association, which is to advance the education of pre-school children so that they may take a constructive place in the community and also the education of their parents, and in furtherance of that aim, (a) to provide safe and satisfying group play in which parents take part when appropriate. (b) to encourage other charitable activities through which parents may help the children
