02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We are a student-led charity that exists to enhance the experience of all students at Queen Margaret University. We do this by representing student views to the University and beyond, providing independent advice and support, and delivering activities, opportunities and services that help students thrive socially, academically and personally Our work is shaped by student voice and focused on inclusion, ensuring all students can participate and benefit. Through collaboration, advocacy and community-building, we aim to make every student’s time at university as positive, supportive and impactful as possible.

Constitutional objectives

To enhance the student experience by providing representation, advice. activities and services to all matriculated students. To stimulate the expression of student opinion within the University on all matters affecting the life and education of students and to be the recognised body representing the students views both within the University and to external organisations. To promote co-operation amongst the studens in order to further their educational cultural, social, athletic and recreational interests, recognising the diversity of the student population and ensuring equal opportunities are available to all. Provision of representation, advice, activities and services shall be made available to students at all campuses
