02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Athelstaneford Parish Hall is a charitable unincorporated association established by Deed of Trust. Our Purpose, as set out in our constitution, is to make available the Parish Hall for the use of inhabitants of Athelstaneford and environs, including use for meetings, lectures and classes, and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving conditions of life for the said inhabitants. To that end, the hall is rented out on an hourly basis to various local organisations, residents, the school, and those running commercial activities.

Constitutional objectives

The said ground and buildings and other property ('the trust property') are dedicated and shall be held by us and our successors as Trustees in all time coming for the purposes of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of Athelstaneford and environs without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including use for meetings, lectures and classes,- and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
