02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our Scout Group helps young people develop the skills they need for life. We provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where children and young people can build confidence, resilience, independence, teamwork and leadership skills. We achieve this through regular, volunteer-led meetings and a varied programme of activities, including outdoor adventures, camping, practical challenges, community projects and opportunities to earn badges and awards. Young people learn by doing, take on age-appropriate responsibilities and are encouraged to try new experiences. We aim to make Scouting accessible to all, regardless of background or ability, while supporting our volunteers to deliver activities safely and effectively.
