02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our charity exists to provide young people with fun, safe and adventurous opportunities that help them develop skills for life. We support children and young people aged 4–18 through weekly meetings, outdoor activities, camps, community projects and youth-led experiences. We do this by offering a programme that builds confidence, teamwork, resilience and leadership. Our trained volunteer leaders plan and deliver activities, maintain safe operating practices, and ensure every young person is welcomed and included. We work closely with families, the wider community and Scouting nationally to provide positive opportunities, remove barriers to participation and keep Scouting accessible for all.
