02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Boys’ Brigade, Glasgow Battalion have recently celebrated our 140th anniversary. We exist to support and equip 49 local member Boys’ Brigade groups to deliver consistent, high-quality, values-based youth work that transforms the lives of children and young people. Our services, benefitting 1500 young people, are delivered in and around the Greater Glasgow area. Our office & resource centre is located in the south west of the city and our member groups operate over an area of 150km2. Much of what we do is delivered during evenings and weekends. 495 volunteer Leaders deliver over 6,500 hours of safe, inclusive, and purposeful activities and events, including residential experiences, every year.
