02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Care for Carers is a charity established over 30 years ago to provide information, learning opportunities, activities and events, support and breaks from caring to unpaid adult carers in Edinburgh. We provide a range of services, one to one support, group support, information and cross referral but we specialise in providing short break services to unpaid carers.

Constitutional objectives
4.1 The advancement of education for carers and former carers by providing advice, information sessions, courses and learning opportunities. 4.2 The advancement of health by providing services which seek to promote carers and former carers health and wellbeing including. suitably themed organised activities, health specific courses, emotional support services and respite services for carers. 4.3 The organisation of recreational activities to improve the condition of life for carers and former carers by providing a range of social activities which aim to reduce the social isolation of carers. 4.4 The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, through a combination of the above services and activities.
