02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Lochgoin and Fenwick Covenantors Trust (LFCT) main objective is educate and promote the importance that the Covenantor movement had in shaping Scotland's history. We do this with an outreach programme aimed at schools, local interest groups and general tourism to the area along with our museum(open 7 days per week) and digital channels. Recently we have engaged in digital outreach that has enabled significant global interest both from a historical and genealogy perspective. Our museum has grown significantly over the last 8 years and we have introduced a Covenantors Trail which connects the museum to Fenwick Kirk where many of the Covenantor martyrs involved in the struggles are buried. All our educational outreach material including workbooks, genealogy information and museum visits are free of charge.
