02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Trust owns the Bearsden Boys' Brigade Hall. Our trust deed requires us to make the hall available to The 1st Bearsden Council as a meeting place for 1st Bearsden Boys' Brigade. The Council are required to pay all property expenses and may let out the building when not required for 1st Bearsden purposes to assist with such costs. We hold a reserve fund to enable us to maintain the building if the 1st Bearsden Company of The Boys' Brigade ceased to be registered with The Boys' Brigade (UK and Republic of Ireland) or to assist with any urgent repairs. If the 1st Bearsden council sublet income is less than the cost of upkeep in any year, we can pay our free income to the 1st Bearsden Council to assist with property upkeep.
