What the charity exists to do
To promote civic pride and community spirit and in furtherance of that to encourage public interest in and knowledge of the history of Arbroath. To make grants from time to time out of available revenue but not capital to assist public or voluntary organisations based or operating within Arbroath, operating either on their own or in conjunction with other organisations or authorities for a particular purpose within the aims and objects of the Incorporation.

Constitutional objectives
(a) To promote civic pride and community spirit and in furtherance of that to encourage public interest in and knowledge of the history of Arbroath and its institutions. (b) To arrange or support public events and incur expenditure in connection therewith in furtherance of the foregoing aim. (c) To make grants from time to time out of available revenue but not capital to assist public or voluntary organisations based or operating within Arbroath that have charitable status in law, operating either on their own or in conjunction with other organisations or authorities for a particular purpose within the aims and objects of the lncorporation. (d) To make grants from time to time out of available revenue but not capital to assist individuals normally resident in Arbroath who are in financial need, to advance education or ambition or to provide relief by reason of age, ill health, disability or other disadvantage.
