02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Westmuir Hall Association looks after the village hall and keeps it in a condition which allows the trustees to hold regular events that benefit of the inhabitants of Westmuir Village and its environs. These activities include, coffee mornings, quiz nights, speciality lunches, concerts and silent auctions. The facilities of the hall are also hired out for uses such as burlesque, dance and yoga classes. The hall is also used by two childrens play groups, a craft club, an instrumental brass band and the Westmuir branch of the W.R.I.. Angus Council also uses the hall as a Polling Station with them also designating the hall as a Resilience Hub.

Constitutional objectives

The objects of the association shall be: (a) to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Westmuir Village and its environs, without distinction of political, religious or other opinions by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. (b) to undertake the maintenance and management of Westmuir Hall for activities promoted by the Association in furtherance of the above objects or any of them.
