02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We are a long established, much valued local charity who positively impact on our elderly community who are vulnerable, disabled and socially isolated, helping them to lead a fuller independent life. There is great demand for our activities which include lunch clubs, hairdressing, chiropody, dementia club, etc. We are the only organisation who provides such activities within our local community, some of which is within the low 10% of deprivation index of Scotland. As well as providing the various activities already mentioned, we encourage the involvement of the wider local community with various other local organisations also using our premises such as probus clubs, gardening club, choral society, drama club who all make good use of our premises.

Constitutional objectives
To promote and assist the general good of all old people in the Burgh of Grangemouth by assisting the work of statutory authorities and voluntary organisations engaged in providing facilities for physical and mental recreation, developing physical improvement, furthering health, relieving poverty, distress or sickness or in pursuing any objects which now are or hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable.
