Constitutional objectives

(1) To purchase and maintain Glenbarr Abbey and such other Clan Lands and buildings as shall from time to time be transferred to the Trust. (2) To preserve for Clansmen and for the general public and as an adjunct to the Clan Lands any furniture, pictures and other chattels of historic or artistic interest. (3) The formation of a Clan Museum and its subsequent maintenance within the existing structure provided by the Glenbarr Abbey itself for the purposes of fostering Clan sentiment and interest and the education of members of the Clan and the general public in the history of the Highland Clans and Clan Alasdair in particular and the collection and preservation of records and traditions and objects of historic interest bearing on the history of Clan Alasdair. (4) To provide a benevolent fund for Clansmen in distress and the widows and orphans of Clansmen. (5) To provide funds to assist in the education of Clansmen and to provide scholarships at schools or universities for the sons and daughters of Clansmen. (6) To provide funds to assist in the discovery and preservation of archaeological sites on the Kintyre peninsular and on the Clan Lands in General, to foster interest in the local history of Kintyre and the Clan Lands in General and to assist in the creation of a Heritage Trail in the Clan Lands.
