Stills provides a series of talks and events, public exhibitions, Creative Learning actvities (including Stills School) prioritising individials with barriers to engagement, which may be social or financial, and access to digital and analogue facilities, darkroom and equipment.

Constitutional objectives
(a) To promote a public understanding of photography as an art with particular emphasis on the inherent potentials of this medium amongst the public. (b) To establish a public centre and gallery for the presentation and understanding of photography within a context. (c) To organise and conduct public exhibitions of photography. (d) To acquire a permanent collection of photographs and reference material for the public benefit. (e) To conduct an educational programme by means of lectures, seminars, research, practical workshop sessions and publications. (f) To create a research Fellowship in photography.
