Constitutional objectives

The wh6le income of the Trust Fund after deduction of expenses (if any) as hereinbefore provided shall be paid by the Trustees as an award to be known as the James Aitken Memorial Trust Award to (FIRST) a person or organisation or persons or organisations chosen by the Trustees in their absolute discretion and who in the opinion of the Trustees shall have made or be likely to make a contribution to the maintenance, standing, advancement and expansion or otherwise to the benefit of (one) the Association or (two) the Plant Industry in Scotland in its widest sense or (three) such person or organisation or persons or organisations operating within or employed within or otherwise engaged in connection or likely to be so operating, employed or otherwise within the Plant Industry in Scotland and that during the period since last granting of the award. or (SECOND) such person or organisation or persons or organisations, who in the sole discretion of the Trustees has made a significant contribution or is likely to make a significant contribution to further his or its or their own interests or those of the Association within the Plant Industry of Scotland.
