02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Murray’s Initiative is a voluntary charity that works to promote healthy, happy, and resilient communities, free from harm caused by alcohol, drug, and mental health issues. Our mission is to provide evidence-based support to individuals, communities, and government to improve health and wellbeing across Scotland. We do this by: • Delivering trauma informed services, education and resources tailored to individual needs. • Providing accredited education and training programs to build and maintain capacity across the alcohol, drug, and mental health service sector. • Advocating for individuals, their families, and wider communities at local, regional, and national levels to promote positive societal change and reduce the harm caused by alcohol, drug, and mental health issues.
