02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
With the aid of a Fund Manager (Rathbones) the Trust is set up to manage the Trust Fund which is used if necessary to maintain the trusts assets of Library and Community Centre in partnership with North Ayrshire Council.

Constitutional objectives
To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the village of Skelmorlie and its environs without distinction of political, religious or other opinions by the provisions of, or assistance in the provision of, facilities for recreation or other leisure-time occupation' the interest of social welfare, and in particular by the provision and maintenance of library and Community Centre facilities with accommodation for a Caretaker or Janitor, with the object of improving the conditions of life of the persons for whom such facilities are primarily intended, being the persons who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances, provided always that any such facilities shall be available to members of the public at large, which shall be deemed by the Trustees in their absolute discretion to be necessary or beneficial including without prejudice to the foregoing generality provision for the replacement, alteration or extension of the facilities and payment of the costs of maintenance, heating, lighting, rates, insurance and the expenses of employment of a Caretaker or Janitor.
