What the charity exists to do
Phew provides a residential short/break service for adults with learning difficulties and works in partnership with carers/families to deliver a high quality accessible service which meets the individual needs of the guests

Constitutional objectives
to establish and maintain quality respite care for children and adults with mental, physical, learning and other disabilities in a safe, manageable and comfortable environment designed to meet their needs and, in furtherance of these objects: to provide a good quality respite service whihc has a well maintained living environment and which takes account of th needs of children and adults with learning disabiltiites who may also have additional disabilities. to ensure that children and adults continue to receive day services away from the project where this is relevant. To engage in stimulating activities during their stay at the project and make full use of other community facilities. To provide specially trained staff on a 24 hour basis. To follow positive health promotion plans and to arrange specialist input as and when required. To help to maximise the potential physical, intellectual, emotional, sensory, communicative and social capacity to individual planned activities for gaining and developing skills during their stay at the project in line with their assessment and care plans. To fully involve the carers and their representatives in the process sof any change and in the planning and any decision making thereafter which might affect their respite.
