02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to promote agriculture in South West Scotland, mainly through running the annual Agricultural Show. The show brings together both the agricultural community and townspeople. It introduces the non-farming community to livestock, agricultural machinery and arts and crafts. The show provides education on agricultural and rural matters. In addition to the show, the Society organises meetings and presentations for the agricultural community.
