Constitutional objectives
4 The company's objects are:- 1 to relieve those in need (of all ages) by reason of their having a disability and/or some other disadvantage and who are, resident within Scotland (the 'Operating Area') by (i) promoting independence among such people and, in particular, through the provision of a range of services including the provisions of appropriate housing, appropriate facilities and/or care and other services for such people. and (ii) representing the views of such people and encouraging self advocacy, with a view to (among other things) involving people with a disability and/or some other disadvantage in influencing decisions which may affect them. 2 to relieve those in need by reason of their having the care of an individual(s) (of any age) with a disability and/or some other disadvantage, resident within the Operating Area, through the provision of respite care and other services. 3 to provide recreational facilities, or organise recreational activities, within the Operating Area, with such facilities/activities being available to individuals (of all ages) with a disability and/or some other disadvantage with the object of improving their conditions of life. 4 to promote and/or provide training in skills associated with the care and supervision of individuals (of all ages) with a disability and/or some other disadvantage 5 to advance education and, in particular, to increase public knowledge and awareness of the needs of individuals with disabilities and/or other disadvantages. 6 to promote equality and diversity through (i) representing the interests of individuals (of all ages) with a disability and/or some other disadvantage (ii) challenging discrimination against such individuals. (iii) seeking to influence public policy. and (iv) seeking to improve the design and delivery of services available to such individuals. 7 to promote, establish and operate other similar schemes, in furtherance of the Company's charitable purposes, within the Operating Area.
