02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We help maintain the local playpark by checking in regularly to ensure it is litter free and the equipment is safe for all to use. We report any damages to the local authority. We meet to discuss how to improve our park and have raised money for the upkeep of the park. We are looking into removing an old toilet block and replacing it with new equipment. Further advice from a local community rep is being sought regarding this.

Constitutional objectives
To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Whalsay and environs without distrinction fo political, religious or other opinions, by associating the Local Authorities, Voluntary Organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. (b) to secure the establishment, maintenance and management of a Play Park (herinafter called 'the Play Park') in furtherance of the above objects.
