What the charity exists to do
To promote any charitable purpose for the inhabitants of the islands of Barra & Vatersay and in particular the advancement of education, the furtherance of health and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness.

Constitutional objectives
To promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the inhabitants of the island of Barra and Vatersay and in particular the advancement of eeducation, the furtherance of health and the relief ofo poverty, distress and sickness. To promote and organise co-operation and the achievement of the above purposes and to that end bring together Council Representatives of the Stautory Authorities and voluntary organisations engaged in the furtehrance of the above purposes or any of them within the isalnds of Barra and Vatersay. and To do all or any other things as will properly attain the above purposes.
