The purposes of the organisation are: The promotion, encouragement and advancement of leisure time occupations or pursuits and the arts by any legal means provided that such promotion, encouragement and advancement is in the interest of social welfare or for the furtherance of education and is made with the object of improving the conditions of life of members of the public resident in the East of Scotland.
