02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

WE SUCCESSFULLY RUN THE VILLAGE HALL OFFERING A SAFE AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL AGES, SEXES AND ABILITIES. WE CONTINUE TO IMPROVE ON THE FACILITIES WE CAN OFFER, KEEPING EVERYTHING UP-TO-DATE, MODERN, CLEAN AND UP TO STANDARDS. WE OFFER VARIOUS SIZED ROOMS FOR LOTS OF REGULAR AND ONE OFF USERS RANGING FROM MEETINGS, SPORT EVENTS, DANCING, BOYS BRIGADE, ANCHOR BOYS, DUKE OF EDINBURGH, WOMENS INSTITUTE, FLOWER CLUBS ETC. WE ARE THE LOCAL VENUE FOR THE POLLING STATIONS DURING ELECTIONS. DUE TO THE SIZE OF OUR MAIN HALL, WE HAVE HELD VARIOUS FUNDRAISING LADIES DAYS OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS. WE HOLD CONCERTS, WEDDINGS, FAYRES AND OFFER FACILITIES FOR SCHOOL EVENTS WHICH ARE TOO BIG TO BE HELD WITHIN THE LOCAL SCHOOL.

The aims and objectives of the committee are to promote and provide premises for the social, cultural, educational and recreational welfare of the community of Strichen and district in any manner which now is or hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable and without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions.
