02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The charity is set up to manage the two village halls in Deskford, they serve as a social focal point for the community and also act as a community resilience hub - we raise funding by undertaking many events, be renting the facilities to groups etc

Constitutional objectives

The objects of the Association shall be:- (a) To promote the well being of the Community resident in Deskford and District (hereinafter called 'the neighbourhood') without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions, by associating the Local Authorities, Voluntary Organisations and Residents in a common effort to further health, to advance education, to provide a meeting place and facilities for physical and mental training and recreatjion, and social, moral and intellectual development and to foster a community spirt for the achievement of these and other such objects as may be by law deemed to be charitable. (b) To secure the establishment, maintenance and management of a Community Centre (hereafter called 'the Centre') for activities promoted by the Association in furtherance of the above objects, or any of them.
