Constitutional objectives

The purpose and objects of the Company are to promote the benefit of young people in the Lewis & Harris area by associating the local and statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide or promote the provision of facilities, in the interests of social welfare, for recreation and other leisure time occupation thereby improving the conditions of life of the aforementioned young people and developing their physical, mental and spiritual capacities so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and memors of society and for this purpose: (1) unite all youth clubs active with Lewis and Harris thrgouh membership of the Company (a youth club for the purposes hereof being defined as a non-uniformed organisation in which youngsters of an area meet for various recreation and leisure activities including activities other than sport). (ii) assist with the formation of new youth clubs in Lewis and Harris (iii) represent members' interests in dealing with central goverment departments, local authorities, voluntary organisations and other bodies. (iv) do any other lawful things to promote the aim of the Company. (v) raise and hold funds towards the furterance of the foregoing object.
