02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The School Fund donates to local and national charities and assists with pupils who come from deprived areas and are unable to afford to participate in certain activities. It supports sporting activities for pupils, contributes to affiliation fees to sports organisations and entry fees for competitions both sports and non-sports. It supports pupil travel to various events, participation in activity and cultural trips (some recreational, some educational, some educational some both) locally, nationally and internationally as well as in-school events. It provides support for additional equipment and resources and for various day-to-day activities beyond those funded by Glasgow City Council. Awards and prizes for pupils’ academic achievement and progress are largely financed by the School Fund.
