02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We are dedicated to improving the wellbeing and healthcare experience of the people and families cared for by our NHS in Highland. As the official charity of NHS Highland we are privileged to support and enhance the vital work delivered by the NHS. Ranging from simple improvements to truly transformational innovations, our aim is to enrich the journey of patients from infancy to end of life. Staff from across the entire organisation work together to tackle everything from the routine to the most challenging illnesses and conditions facing people in Highland and Argyll & Bute. Our donors and supporters are united in fundraising to offer our patients and their families a chance at a healthier and happier future. With the help of our supporters we can provide state-of the-art medical equipment, fund innovative research, provide support services to patients and their families, train and educate our workforce and contribute to the essential care and refurbishment of our hospitals.
