02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our charity is set up to support citizenship and community development by providing affordable facilities for local, national and international groups. We pursue these charitable purposes through the operation and improvement of Bridge End Outdoor Centre, the caravan and camp sites, and the marina. We deliver on this mission in the following ways: 1) We provide group accommodation at low cost to widen access to nature & outdoors for groups including schools, youth groups, sports groups, extended family groups, and special interest groups. 2) We provide low cost caravan & camping facilities for local, national and international visitors. 3) We provide marina facilities for both local berth holders and visiting boats, as well as launching facilities for kayaks, paddle boards, etc, to widen access for on/in sea leisure activities. 4) We host a number of community events during the year, including fishing competitions, community bbq, and charity fundraisers.

Constitutional objectives

1.1 Providing and organising recreational and social facilities with the aim of improving the conditions of life for the people in the local community 1.2 The advancement of citizenship or community development through the provision of a facility to groups and organisations 1.3 In furtherance of these purposes the organisation will: -Provide low cost accommodation facilities for local, national and international groups, clubs and organisations -Provide a facility which can be used by groups to promote any of the following: culture, heritage, environment, leisure, recreation, sport, health, wellbeing, education and the local economy
